Originally from South Africa, she immigrated to the Netherlands in 1992. With over 10 years of experience as a ceramic painter at the renowned Royal Delft, Wilma possesses profound knowledge of various painting techniques, including the world-famous Delft blue and the refined Red-Blue-Gold style.

Experience
After her time at Royal Delft, Wilma founded her own label, called Delfts Plaisier. Her skills in painting pottery are truly impressive, effortlessly blending traditional motifs with modern contemporary interpretations. As an independent designer and master painter, she has proven to be a leading innovative force in the world of Delft blue, extending beyond decorative pottery alone. Her collaborations with prominent designers, including Marcel Wanders, have resulted in striking modern pieces of Delft blue that break traditional boundaries and appeal to a new audience.

Designer
In later years, Wilma was appointed as Head of Design at Heinen Delfts Blauw in Putten. Here, she was responsible for designing products and patterns for the beautiful hand-painted Delft blue collection, as well as painting intricate Delft blue designs on pottery such as portraits and reproductions of old masters. Additionally, she designed the brand-new 'Home Collection', featuring innovative designs that deviate from the traditional Delft blue.
